Community ServiceWork on various projects, which occur throughout the year, such as the food, clothing and book drives, "Pennies for Pediatrics" or other events. All of these projects involve Conant students with the goal of enhancing their understanding of what it means to reach out to their community. FundraisingOur biggest committee, Fundraising has many sub-groups that meet throughout the year to work on various events. Our Craft Fair involves the help of almost every teacher. Many parents assist by working in the Snack Bar, at the Bake Sale table or by collecting admission fees at the door. The Book Fair comes to school for a week and is staffed by parents who get to work with their child's class if they so choose. Our yearly auction takes a dedicated and driven team and is always looking for new ideas and fresh faces. During the Ice Cream Social parents take shifts to keep the sundae bar moving smoothly while others relax with their children and friends in the cafeteria. GardeningBe a part of helping to beautify the outside of our school. We work in groups several times a year as well as on individual tasks. No skill is required and young children are welcome. You will also work with the media assistants to shelve books and assist in other related tasks. The time commitment is usually once a week for 1+ hours in the morning or afternoon. Every effort is made to place volunteers in time slots that coincide with their children's visit the library. Naturalist-in-Residence ProgramExplore our schoolyard with your children.
